Teaching Philosophy
Shuang Yu’s teaching centers on the relationship between score, sound, and musical communication. Working across harpsichord, fortepiano, and piano, she approaches keyboard pedagogy as a process of transforming notation into expressive and stylistically informed performance.
A central aspect of her teaching is close score study, encouraging students to engage critically with articulation, structure, phrasing, and historical source materials, particularly within Baroque repertoire.
